MBI Classic Jeeps |
The Jeep was conceived by a committee in 1940 and went on to make an invaluable and immeasurable contribution to winning World War II. From then on its success and popularity were ensured. From such humble beginnings as the jack-of-all-trades for the US Army through to its present day status as America’s top sport utility vehicle, the Jeep is one of the few vehicles that can genuinely be described as an automotive legend.
After World War II, Jeeps saw service in Korea and Vietnam. In the sixties the CJ5 popularised the cult of off-road driving, to be replaced in later decades by the CJ7 and the new generation of YJ Jeeps for the late eighties and nineties.
The TJ Jeeps are the current production models and still bear a remarkably close resemblance to the machines that starred in World War II. The trademark vertically slatted grille, vertical windshield, low bodywork, and great off-road performance all remain.
