Old Man Emu 2.25” Suspension System for 99-04 Ford Superduty
With over 30 years of successfully supplying customized suspension systems for import model four-wheel drives, ARB has finally ventured in to the domestic full-size truck market, releasing complete, customized suspension systems for Ford Superduty pickups.
After an extensive evaluation of the Ford Super Duty, ARB suspension engineers determined that the OE Superduty suspension was considerably softer in the front than the rear. As a result of this imbalance, the axles would easily travel through to the bumpstops when encountering any uneven terrain. In order to remedy this situation, ARB has opted to design a customized suspension system for the Ford Superduty under ARB’s suspension brand, Old Man Emu.
The new Old Man Emu customized suspension provides a 2.25” lift which creates valuable wheel travel to control the front suspension motion. This extra travel also made it possible to fit a more highly tuned shock absorber and slightly higher rate leaf spring, to dampen the motion before the axle meets the bumpstop.
The resulting Old Man Emu Ford Superduty suspension offers a smoother, more balanced ride with improved handling characteristics. Also, the extra lift height provides the bonus of being able to fit larger tires and improves approach and departure angles for the vehicle.
In standard Old Man Emu fashion, extra leaf options are available for the rear to improve carrying capacities for loads over 1200lbs.
