Skid Row Gas Tank Skid Plate |
For 1997-Present Jeep TJ Wrangler including Rubicon and Unlimited.
The Jeep TJ’s gas tank hangs lower than any previous Jeep. While we’re not sure why, we know what to do about it! Protect it with some serious steel!
This new gas tank skid plate is a cover-up style skid plate that bolts over the factory skid plate. This skid plate simply bolts on right over the original so you don’t have to drain your gas tank and remove it. That makes the installation a snap! Normal installation time is less than an hour. They are made from 3/16” thick steel on the bottom and sides, and come powder coated in semi-gloss black. We have one installed on our project TJ Rubicon with a D44 rear axle and it works great!
Please note that 1997-1998 TJ’s will require two holes to be drilled and 2004 models require drilling one hole.
