Skid Row Gas Tank Skid Plates For Jeep XJ and ZJ |
These skids are made from 3/16” thick steel on the bottom and sides, are powder coated, and are completely bolt-on. They are designed to work with hitches as you can see in the picture.If you don’t already have a hitch you will need to provide the nut plates that fit inside the chassis. You can get them from your friendly Jeep dealer. On 1997-2001 models you’ll only need the driver’s side nut plate. We just got a set from our local dealer.
Please note: We’ve recently learned that this gas tank skid plate is not compatible with the Rusty’s Offroad Hitch due to its width.
Please note that there is a difference between the 1984-1996 model and the 1997-2001 model. The 1984-1996 models have a steel gas tank, while the 1997-2001 models have a plastic gas tank that hangs closer to the ground.
