This rough and tumble steel steering box skid plate is made of 1/4” thick steel plate and both e-coated and powder coated for durability. Since it mounts to the side of the frame and not to the bumper like other skid plates, you can use this with most aftermarket bumpers. This skid plate comes in wrinkle black and gloss black.
The skid plate mounts to the side of the frame using the front and rear steering box bolts. There is also a bracket that fastens to the round frame cross tube. To install this skid plate you drill only one hole and use the self tapping bolt we supply. The front of the skid plate is 5/8” back from the front of the frame rail and the top edge is 1-1/4” below the frame rail.
